Two cities announced on an early itinerary — Portland, Ore., and Austin, Texas — have been dropped “due to circumstances beyond our control,” according to the band’s online newsletter.

Pearl Jam has always made an effort to bring along interesting opening acts and they’ll uphold that tradition on this tour. Noisemakers Sonic Youth open August 3 – September 5 and Brit-pop superstars Supergrass sign on for the second leg, October 4 – November 5.

The band’s new album Binaural, is set to be released on Epic Records May 16.
