Fire Consumes Tour Bus
An early morning blaze consumed a bus carrying George Thorogood & The Destroyers‘ crew and equipment. No injuries were reported but damage to the bus and its contents was substantial. The May 1 fire was triggered by a flat tire as the bus made its way across the Florida panhandle towards New Orleans.
Thorogood’s management company told Pollstar it was all over in less than 18 minutes. By the time emergency vehicles responded, the bus was a lost cause.
Nevertheless, the band continued on its way to the Big Easy and expected to play its May 2 show at the House of Blues there as scheduled.
George Thorogood & The Destroyers have just announced a new tour which will keep them on the road into September.
