Richard Young, 45, was rushed to St. Anthony’s Hospital late Saturday when he became short of breath after performing at Remington Park, manager Mitchell Fox said.

Young is the rhythm guitarist of the group, which he and his brother, drummer Fred Young, helped form in 1986.

The Headhunters, known for bringing a blues rock edge to country music, won Vocal Group of the Year awards from the Country Music Association in both 1990 and 1991.

They have sold more than 4 million records with hits including “Walk Softly on This Heart of Mine,” “Dumas Walker” and “Oh, Lonesome Me.”
