StarMedia Network Inc. will sponsor Santana’s Supernatural tour this summer and its broadband division will provide concert webcasts.

The 25-stop amphitheatre tour begins July 20 in West Palm Beach, Fla., and ends October 1 in St. Louis.

Santana said the Internet deal gives him a chance to “touch the lives of so many people in a borderless community of Spanish and Portuguese-speaking people throughout the world.”

After more than 30 years of touring and recording, the man whose early hits included “Evil Ways,” “Black Magic Woman,” and “Oye Como Va” has experienced an amazing return to stardom.

Along with the phenomenal success of the Supernatural album, Santana’s popularity as a live performer has reached new heights.

A major tour last year with Mána and Ozomatli helped introduce Santana to a new concert audience and earned more than $11 million in the process. The guitar virtuoso and his band head for Europe next week for a month-long arena tour then take a break before the start of the U.S. dates.
