The advance webcast takes place on Sonicnet.com at 10 p.m. EDT May 15 and the album will be released the next day on Sony Classical in association with Jackson’s own Manticore label.

On Summer in the City, Jackson is joined by longtime collaborators Graham Maby and Gary Burke for performances that include new arrangements of songs by Jackson, as well as cover versions of classic pop songs that influenced the singer/songwriter.

Summer in the City contains many songs from Jackson’s early career including “One More Time” and “Fools in Love” from Look Sharp!; “It’s Different for Girls” from I’m the Man; and “Another World” from his multiplatinum 1982 album, Night and Day.

The British pop/jazz/classical chameleon recently announced he is working on Night & Day 2, an album of all-new material.

Described on Jackson’s Web site as “24 hours in New York City as seen through the eyes of several characters,” the album will feature guest vocalists such as Marianne Faithfull, who has already recorded her track for the disc.
