The arena tour kicks off August 1 in Grand Rapids, Mich., and promise to leave a trail of ringing ears in 30 major markets through September 23.

The seminal Australian hard rock outfit has also picked up what would have seemed like an unlikely tour sponsor: VH1. The music network is planning a series of events both on-air and online to promote the tour, including a “Behind the Music” premiere June 18.

Tickets will be offered exclusively on VH1.com and Ticketmaster.com beginning June 14th. Tickets will be made available to the general public on June 17.

In addition to the “Behind the Music” profile, VH1 will feature special AC/DC news segments and other programming surrounding the tour.

VH1 recently included AC/DC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long” among its list of 100 best songs of all time. The band is closing in on the 85 million worldwide album sales milestone, according to the band’s Web site.
