Update: Shooting Outside Sisqo Party
Derrick McCrayton, 19, was wounded by security guards after he and Christopher Malone, 17, allegedly fired shots at them during an argument.
According to the Arizona Republic newspaper, the guards told police that the young men were shooting at them and they returned fire.
Phoenix Police Lt. Brent Vermeer told the paper that McCrayton and Malone were uncooperative during interviews. He said McCrayton did not have a gun when he spoke to police but his car had not been searched.
It was originally reported that Malone had cut his hand on a fence outside the club during the incident and was taken to a hospital, then arrested on an outstanding felony warrant.
Later, police said Malone is a suspect in the shooting.
Sisqo, who was onstage when the shooting occurred, was rushed from the club in a limousine.
The crowd was cleared without incident and no one inside the club was injured, according to police.
Calls to the Power Plant and KKFR-FM, which hosted the party, were not immediately returned.
