Eminem is charged with one count of carrying a concealed weapon and one count of assault with a deadly weapon, said Macomb County Prosecutor Carl Marlinga.

The 27-year-old performer, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, is expected to be arraigned Wednesday in Warren District Court.

The fight happened about 2:20 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of a bar in Warren, the rapper’shometown. Marlinga said Eminem hit John Guerra over the head with a 9mm Smith & Wesson gun after he saw Guerra kissing his wife, Kimberly Mathers, 27. The gun was not loaded, he said.

Kimberly Mathers told the Detroit Free Press her husband “overreacted” to a friendly kiss between friends.

Eminem’s lawyer, Howard Hertz, said his client planned to let the judge enter an innocent plea for him in court Wednesday.

In February, Eminem won a Grammy for best rap album for his debut release, The Slim Shady LP, and another Grammy for best rap solo performance for the hit single “My Name Is.”

Eminem has the No. 1 album in the country, The Marshall Mathers LP.
