A Headbangin’ Feast
King Diamond (Denmark), Destruction (Germany), Defiled (Japan), Entombed (Sweden), Fleshlesh (Czech Republic) and Gorguts (Canada) are just a taste of the more than 150 bands scheduled to perform at the longest-running metal festival in the U.S.
Yes, a varied diet is a healthy thing. So, Metalfest will also host some of America’s top artists in “extreme music,” including Macabre, Deceased, Caphalic Carnage, Exhumed, Internal Bleeding, Mortal Decay, Disgorge, Fleshgrind, Junglerot, Dying Fetus, Malignancy, Regurgitation, Orgy With Pigs, Reinfected, Ritual Carnage and, for a little levity, Pessimist.
No great feast is complete without tasty side dishes, and Metalfest organizers promise just that with the serving up of stars from the World Wrestling Federation and Extreme Championship Wrestling in addition to the main course.
Metal gourmands will be treated to a buffet-style presentation, with bands performing on four stages.
The Milwaukee Metalfest is the first leg of the progressive dinner called the Metal Mania Series. Once the tables are cleared, the hosts will load up the lunchwagon and head to San Bernardino, Calif., for November to Dismember, on November 11 and 12. The series ends with a loud, satisfying belch at the March Metal Meltdown in Pennsauken, N.J., on March 9 and 10, 2001.
