The upcoming show will take place at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center.

“The Hanson people contacted us and said they wanted specifically to play this building,” said PAC director John Scott. “They said they’d never played here and have always wanted to play this building. … Of course, we’re thrilled to have them.”

The Performing Arts Center holds 2,367 people, and fans scrambling for tickets won’t be able to camp out overnight. Scott, however, said he expects to allow a line to begin forming at sunrise July 1, the day the show goes on sale.

The Tulsa show is reportedly the first date on the band’s world tour but an official tour itinerary has not been released. Hanson’s sophomore album, This Time Around, came out in May and revealed a more mature, musically diverse side of the brothers.

A little hometown hype may be just the thing to jumpstart interest in the group, which isn’t generating the teeny-bopper frenzy seen in the “MMMBop” days.
