Two Dead After Shows In Wisconsin
Justin Boehlke, 17, was killed by a train near the Summerfest site after allegedly being ejected from the festival by security officials for being intoxicated, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal.
Boehlke’s brother told the paper that Justin’s friends wanted to accompany him but could not because he was taken to an “authorized area.” They were unable to find Boehlke after the show and notified police.
A spokesman for Canadian Pacific Railway reported that a freight train rounding a bend struck Boehlke at about 2:30 a.m., some three-to-four miles from the festival site. Police are investigating it as a “sudden death,” according to the Journal Sentinel.
At about the same time, another fatal accident was occurring after a concert a few dozen miles away.
An Indiana man was run over and killed as he apparently slept on the ground outside Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisc., early July 9.
Walworth County Sheriff’s deputies said they found Michael Moore, 30, dead in a parking lot at the venue about 2:30 a.m., just hours after a Phish concert.
Deputies said they found Moore next to a vehicle driven by a Minnesota man. Witnesses told deputies that Moore was sleeping on the ground when the man struck him.
The driver said he did not see Moore, deputies said, and no charges are pending.
