The bonus shows will take place August 8 and 9 at Rupp Arena and include a special opening act to be announced at a later date.

Metallica was the headliner of a daylong hard rock festival at the speedway on July 8. After four hours of music from Korn, Kid Rock, Powerman 5000 and System Of A Down, drummer Lars Ulrich, bassist Jason Newsted and guitarist Kirk Hammett took the stage to inform the crowd of more than 55,000 that the band would not be able to perform its usual set because of Hetfield’s absence.

Instead, several singers from other bands on the festival tour pitched in to front the heavy metal outfit. Korn’s Jonathan Davis, System Of A Down’s Serj Tankian, Kid Rock, and his sidekick, Joe C, took turns rockin’ the mic.

Fans can redeem their original ticket stubs from the July 8 show at any Ticketmaster outlet in Kentucky, Indiana or Ohio beginning July 31. There will be no additional ticket sales for the two makeup dates.
