The group includes Darol Anger, Mike Marshall and Aaron Johnston of the Anger-Marshall Band; Tye North and Jeff Stipe of Leftover Salmon; Michael Kang (String Cheese Incident); and Paul McCandless (Paul Winter Consort).

The album, titled Head West, is described as “a buoyant and intricate musical interplay and a deft melding of genres and world rhythms.” The record hits stores September 12.

Comotion will support the release with a West Coast tour kicking off September 29 at the Huntridge Theatre in Las Vegas. The show will start immediately following Phish‘s gig at the Thomas & Mack Center that night, providing jam band fans with an instant excuse to keep groovin’.

The nine-city Comotion club and theatre tour hits the House of Blues in Los Angeles the next day, and heads up the coast, including stops in San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and Vancouver, B.C.
