Kicking off at the Sports Palace in Mexico City on September 22, they’ll head into the States for a show at the State Palace Theatre in New Orleans on the 27th, working their way through the South and ending up in Columbus, Ohio, October 15.

Still supporting their self-titled debut album, the band has announced the release of a Digipak September 26 that will include the full-length album, new and revised artwork, and six new songs.

The nine mask-wearing Iowans recently made news by picking up a record-tying six nominations at the Kerrang! awards in London.

The band lived up to the chaotic reputation that characterises its live shows at the August 29 awards ceremony. Slipknot picked up the top prizes, including best international live act, single of the year for “Wait and Bleed” and best band in the world. The band commemorated the occasion by smashing chairs, glasses and wrecking the stage at the Hammersmith Palais.

The resulting food fight subsequently caused actress Britt Ekland to slip on a stray piece of watermelon as she went up to present Marilyn Manson with a Hall of Fame award. She was taken to a hospital with a fractured wrist and ankle.

Another winner was Queens Of The Stone Age, which collected the best international newcomer award. Also present were Iron Maiden, Napalm Death, Foo Fighters, and Motorhead. Not easily amused, Lemmy from Motorhead was unimpressed with Slipknot’s antics, labeling them “disgusting.”
