The bandmates chatted with MTV News as they were entering Radio City Music Hall in NYC for the Video Music Awards September 7.

The album is due out October 31 but Interscope Records has stated no tour plans of any nature have been made and U.S. fans probably won’t see the band until 2001.

Calls by Pollstar to U2 tour representatives were not immediately returned.

Rather than launch a massive, expensive production as seen on the Zoo TV and PopMart tours, the band will take a more low-key approach this time around.

“We’re gonna take it easy and see how the land lies,” Mullen told the music channel.

“We’re going to have some fun, go indoors for the first time in years,” Bono added.
