Tour representatives said “insurmountable logistical, scheduling and health problems” made it impossible to reschedule the tour, which was originally supposed to start August 2.

The initial Rhyme & Reason itinerary was scrapped when Beastie Boy Mike D seriously injured his shoulder in bicycle accident. He underwent surgery August 6 and is expected to make a full recovery, but other factors further complicated the tour plans.

“All efforts were made to reschedule the tour but were ultimately unsuccessful due to a confluence of prior commitments, holds, scheduling, the venues in question and numerous other factors,” the Beastie Boys camp said in a statement.

Logistics aside, reviving Rhyme & Reason probably became even more difficult last week when RATM fired their management company, G.A.S. Entertainment. The firm also represents the Beastie Boys and had a major role in orchestrating the tour.

Refunds for previously scheduled Rhyme & Reason dates are available at all Ticketmaster outlets or points of purchase.
