The rocker wants Black Sabbath’s name taken off the hall’s nominations ballot – a ballot the head bangers have graced for the fourth consecutive year.

“Why don’t they let the fans vote? As it is now, what’s the point? It’s a joke. It’s about gladhanding and grandstanding and I don’t want any part of it.”

Ozzy welcomed last year’s Sabbath nomination with just as much enthusiasm. “Save the ink,” he said. “Forget about us. [The nomination] is voted on by the ‘supposed’ elite of the industry and the media, who’ve never bought an album or concert ticket in their lives, so their vote is totally irrelevant to me.”

“Sabbath has never been media darlings. We’re a people’s band and that suits us just fine.”

Though Sabbath’s reunion tour last year was dubbed The Last Supper, Ozzy is not ruling out the possibility of a future regrouping.

“I’m not going to say we’ll never play again – I’ve learned that lesson,” he said. “Right now, I’ve got a record to make and that’s where all my energies are going.”

Ozzy is working on a new solo album as well as a host of other projects, including a role in the holiday season Adam Sandler flick “Little Nicky,” an Ozzfest documentary and preparations for next year’s Ozzfest tour.
