The concert will feature individual performances by the husband and wife as well as several duets. Tickets at the 7,000-seat venue are priced from $100 – $300.

Houston is one of the biggest-selling artists of all time, with smashes like “I Will Always Love You,” “The Greatest Love of All,” and “How Will I Know” to draw from.

Still, her superstardom shouldn’t obscure the talent’s of Brown, who has a pretty impressive catalog of his own, as a solo artist and as a founder of New Edition. Among his biggest hits are “My Prerogative,” “Every Little Step” and “Don’t Be Cruel.”

Without question, the combination of two artists of their stature makes this concert a can’t-miss event. But unlike the husband-and-wife touring superstar tandem of Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, this show is even more notable because of the non-musical drama surrounding the couple.

This year has scored the celebrity couple more tabloid headlines than hits, thanks to Brown’s stint in a Florida jail and Houston’s marijuana bust in Hawaii, followed by months of rumor of erratic behavior and alleged substance abuse.

Brown spent 58 days in Broward County Jail for violating probation on a prior drunken driving charge. He reportedly went through rehab while in jail and has maintained a relatively low profile since his July 7 release.

He’s had several run-ins with the law over the years, most involving drugs or alcohol.

Houston’s rambling, somewhat incoherent interview with Jane magazine earlier in the year coincided with several no-shows and her removal as a performer at the Oscar Awards ceremony. Tongues were flying by the time she was scheduled to appear at Arista Records’ 25th anniversary tribute to mentor Clive Davis in April.

The televised fete was overshadowed by “will she or won’t she” speculation about Houston’s appearance. She did appear, albeit under intense media scrutiny for any hint of instability, delivering a memorable and perspiration-drenched performance.

And in a more recent blow, Houston learned she would indeed be charged with petty misdemeanor marijuana possession stemming from an incident in Kona, Hawaii, in January. Houston allegedly was found with a half-ounce stash of pot in her bag at an airport security check and walked off before police arrived, leaving the bag behind.

She has until October 26 to turn herself in to face charges that could result in a maximum of 30 days in jail and a $1000 fine.
