BNL has been on the road supporting their newest album, Maroon, since September 22, and finish the first leg on October 28 at the First Union Spectrum in Philadelphia.

They’ve already announced a second leg of mostly American dates that stretches from November 24 through January 1.

The Toronto quintet will take another break before launching the next trek – with Canadian songstress Chantal Kreviazuk in tow – across the Great White North starting February in Hamilton, Ontario.

So far, they have a dozen gigs lined up in their homeland, running through March 7, with more dates likely to come.

Barenaked Ladies are no strangers to the road; they’ve developed a strong following over the last few years through extensive touring and it’s paid off. They’ve grown from being considered a novelty act with little shelf-life to arena-filling headliners.

Along the way, they’ve gotten a little help from their friends, too.

Fellow Canuck Jason Priestly of “Beverly Hills, 90210” fame was able to showcase the band’s music on the television show in the early days. He also directed the video of one of BNL’s first American hits, “The Old Apartment.”

Priestly still works with his old pals; he recently filmed a rockumentary following the band over two weeks of its U.S. tour. The film, “Barenaked In America,” was released September 29, and was shown at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Slamdance Film Festival.
