Guns N' Roses To Play New Year's Show

Guns N’ Roses will perform at the House of Blues in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve (actually, on New Year’s Day). It will be the first live performance for this incarnation of the band, which now comprises Axl Rose, guitarists Paul Tobias and Buckethead, former Replacements bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboard player Dizzy Reed, and former Primus drummer Brain.

Advance tickets went on sale today (December 6) at noon Pacific Time and sold out almost instantaneously. The general on-sale begins in the afternoon of December 8 through regular ticket outlets.

According to House of Blues, GNR will take the stage at 2 a.m. January 1. The Goo Goo Dolls will ring in the New Year at the venue with a separate show.

Axl Rose & Co. have one other gig scheduled – a January 14 concert at the Rock in Rio III festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Rose is the only original member remaining of the hugely successful band that burst onto the hard rock scene in 1987. GNR last toured in 1993.

An unfinished album – reportedly titled Chinese Democracy – featuring various members of the new lineup, has been the subject of rumor for five years.
