Hard-Touring Band At It Again
The hard-touring Derek Trucks Band is kicking off the new year with (no surprise here) another trek.
The 21-year-old nephew of Allman Brothers Band drummer Butch Trucks is taking his band on a West Coast swing with co-headliner Eric Johnson & Alien Love Child, launching January 22 at the Cajun House in Scottsdale, Ariz.
So far, the rest of the gigs are in California, with stops in San Diego, Anaheim, Ventura, San Francisco and West Hollywood. More dates are expected to be added soon.
DTB is touring on the continued strength of its self-titled 1997 CD, putting in some 200 shows per year.
Sharing the stage with the Derek Trucks Band is fellow guitar virtuoso Eric Johnson and his blues-oriented side projected, Alien Love Child. Their latest record, Live and Beyond, was released in October.
