Post-punk Renaissance man Henry Rollins is getting ready to roll out a spoken-word tour in support of his upcoming collection of poems and prose, A Rollins In The Wry, due in stores February 20.
The outing launches February 13 at the Vic Theatre in Chicago and then head west to San Diego on the 28th, though there’s room to add dates in between. Then he’ll work his way east, including stops in Dallas, New Orleans, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. Expect more shows to be penciled in soon.
The album tracks were culled from a nine-night stand in March 1999 at Luna Park in West Hollywood, Calif. Titles include “Clintonese,” “Men In Make Up,” “Rite Aid” and “Death To Poets.”
The spoken-word collection doesn’t mean Rollins has given up on his music, of course. He and the rest of the Rollins Band released Get Some Go Again last February and toured extensively in support of the record for much of the year.
