Dirty Three members Warren Ellis on violin and Jim White on drums, and Susan Stenger of the band Big Bottom will lend even more depth to Cave’s already intense voice and piano-playing as the back-up band. The group will perform selections culled from his lengthy and diverse career.

The carefully selected support acts are Kelly Hogan, Sally Timms, Neko Case, Andrew Bird, and Low; one artist appears on each date.

The mid-size theatre tour commences March 21 and wraps on the 28th. Cave is also schedule to appear on “The Late Show With David Letterman” March 19.

The outing is a prelude to his’s latest album with the Bad Seeds, their first release of new material since 1997’s The Boatman’s Call. The new effort, No More Shall We Part, features Bad Seeds Mick Harvey, Blixa Bargeld, Thomas Wydler, Martyn Casey, Conway Savage, Jim Sclavunos and Warren Ellis.

The album is set for an April release in the U.K. but specifics were not available for North America.
