The Puerto Rican heartthrob will host a private party for contest winners February 26 at The Guvernment nightclub in Toronto, where he will perform a set of songs from his latest album, Sound Loaded, including the hits, “Nobody Wants To Be Lonely,” and “She Bangs.”

U2 and Madonna recently performed at similar gigs, reserved for winners of regional radio contests and generating great hoopla.

Martin’s show will differ somewhat in that the contest will expand to include fans of all ages from across the Great White North. The contest began February 14, and instructions are being advertised in local media throughout the country.

The up-close and personal gig comes just five days after the Grammy Awards, where Martin is in the running for the best male pop vocal performance nod for “She Bangs.”
