The band has already announced a European tour kicking off May 29 in Moscow, and is thought to be going into the studio this summer.

“Right now, it is their only North American date,” an Eagles rep told Pollstar. “We hope to do more, but nothing’s been confirmed yet.”

As if they’d have problems finding a place to play.

The grand opening of the Dallas arena will be marked with a week of special events, including a performance of Michael Flatley’s “Feet of Flames,” a yet-to-be announced second concert, and culminating with the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

The American Airlines Center will also be the new home to the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks and the NHL’s Dallas Stars.

Obviously, arena officials are happy to have snagged the Eagles as their grand opener. “We have the greatest show in the hemisphere as a preview to the Greatest Show on Earth,” gushed Dave Brown, vice-president and general manager of Center Operating Company, the venue’s management firm.

An announcement of the Eagles’ ticket on-sale date will be made soon, according to the rep.
