Singer Philip Anselmo, guitarist Dimebag Darrell, drummer Vinnie Paul and bassist Rex Brown will treat their fans to a package they’ve dubbed the tour.

Joining the headbangers on their assault will be Slayer, Static-X, Skrape and Morbid Angel, who must like sharing the stage with Pantera; they’re on the band’s current outing, too.

The fun commences June 20 in Connecticut and runs through July 26, and hits 24 cities from coast-to-coast.

The arena tour may get some competition from Ozzfest 2001 and other tours but Pantera is aiming to do something a little different.

The Extreme Steel outing is designed to offer “air-conditioned comfort at a high-decibel level,” Paul said. “We wanted to kick off the summer with a little metal madness of our own. Being Texas boys, we know how brutal the outdoors can be once June rolls around. We figured our fans are ready for a little evening excitement without any humidity other than the heat they’ll generate all on their own.”

Metalheads in Alaska, Korea, Australia or New Zealand can catch Patera in May.
