Citing production delays, the boy band’s Popodyssey (now one word) tour won’t launch May 12 in Miami as originally planned, but six days later at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla.

Three shows – in Charlotte, N.C.; Las Cruces, N.M.; and Memphis, Tenn. – have been axed and several others (Miami included) have been rescheduled.

“N Sync’s Popodyssey tour, spanning 45 dates over 38 cities with 88 trucks to carry all the production materials, is the biggest musical undertaking in pop history, and the group wanted to make sure that all their fans got the full effect of this dynamic tour,” said Brad Wavra, an exec with tour promoter SFX.

“We, along with the group, regret any inconvenience this schedule change may have caused for the fans. We promise this tour will be a musical extravaganza for the record books and encourage fans to come see five of the hardest working men in music today.”

Full refunds are available at the point of purchase for shows that have not been rescheduled.

‘N Sync is in the studio recording tracks for their next release, Celebrity, scheduled to hit shelves in June.
