The band recently wound up a tour of Japan and is in the middle of a well-deserved rest. But the vacation will be short-lived as Billy Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool fire up the tour bus again for a June 17 opener in St. Paul, Minn.

They have 16 dates penciled in so far, including gigs in Milwaukee, Chicago, St. Louis, Washington, New York City, Cleveland and Pittsburgh. After the tour winds down, they’ll head back to the United Kingdom for a few late-summer festival dates in August.

Aussie punkers The Living End are rumored to be in the support slot for the North American dates.

Green Day has been touring relentlessly with only brief breaks since headlining last summer’s Vans Warped Tour, which marked their return to the road after a two-year hiatus.
