The Pet Shop Boys will headline the tour on its 18 North American stops. The shindig heads out July 13 in Miami and winds down in Houston on August 11. Presale tickets for the outing are on sale through tour sponsors PlanetOut.com and Gay.com.

Tickets go on sale June 2 for the Miami; Atlanta; Wantagh, NY; Boston; Baltimore/D.C.; and Holmdel, N.J., dates with the remaining tickets going on sale June 9.

The main stage lineup also includes Soft Cell, The Magnetic Fields, and Rufus Wainwright. Wotapalava will feature the diverse and eclectic talent of artists – gay and straight – and celebrate the goal of equality for everyone, including gay and lesbian people.

“Wotapalava is a celebration of the freedom to be what you want to be and about having the power to live as you want without fear or discrimination,” Pet Shop Boy/event creator Neil Tennant said.

“The diversity of the performers contradicts any stereotyping; we are not defined solely by our sexuality. Being homosexual is an important part of our lives, but only one part of it.”

A second stage will feature continuous dance music from Junior Vasquez, Danny Tenaglia, Peter Rauhofer, Tracy Young, Abel, Tom Stephan, Tasty Tim, Susan Morabito and many other artists, as well as Broadway and cabaret performers.

A dollar from each ticket will benefit the work of the Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest lesbian and gay advocacy organization. In addition, HRC will share a portion of the proceeds with local youth organizations serving the LGBT community.
