Lead singer and Lollapalooza creator Perry Farrell concocted the tour, which is expected to head out in August. This time, he’s connecting rock and electronica music, as well as celebrating the Jewish year of the Jubilee. Farrell originally wanted to present a music festival in Israel but had to scrap the plan due to political unrest.

The not-yet-confirmed tour marks the first time Jane’s Addiction has really hit the road since 1997. However, they played together recently at the the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the Dysfunctional Family Picnic (hosted by WXRK-FM, New York) and KROQ’s Weenie Roast.

The band’s lineup includes original members Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro and Stephen Perkins. Bassist Eric Avery will be replaced by Martyn Le Nobel from Farrell’s post-Jane band, Porno for Pyros.

Farrell and Navarro have solo albums out, although they have said the set list will comprise mostly Jane’s Addiction songs and not their individual work.
