Ticketmaster will offer a custom online ticket pre-sale for the tour. Beginning July 22, Diamond fans will have advanced ticket access prior to the public ticket onsale date.

Those interested in taking advantage of the presale can register for the promotion at www.neildiamond.ticketmaster.com and receive a special password that will allow them to purchase up to 8 tickets per show, in all price ranges.

The pre-sale promotion will run until 10:00 p.m. local time the night before the general on-sale date for each particular show.

Beginning September 28 in Columbus, Ohio, Diamond will play 31 arena dates before coming to a tentative close December 21 at The Forum in Los Angeles. As it stands, there is room for additional shows to be added to the tour itinerary.

The venerable performer will offer a sneak peek of what’s to come when he visits the “Today Show” July 27.

Diamond’s new album, Three Chord Opera, comes out July 24, marking his first album of new material since 1996. The showman, whose career is into its fourth decade, will be backed by a nine-piece band, with horn and string sections.

His last long road trip spanned a solid chunk of 1998 and ‘99 for an outing that saw Diamond perform for more than a million fans. This tour will likely continue well beyond the current itinerary.

He might seem like the quintessential American singer/songwriter of a certain generation, but Diamond’s overseas fans are just as devoted as those in the States.
