Equipment that had already been erected as part of the elaborate stage set was damaged when wind and rain hit the stadium the August 1, a spokesperson for concert promoters SFX said.

This is the second time the boy band phenomenon’s South Florida tour stop has been postponed. The original May date was rescheduled when the tour’s launch was delayed due to staging complications. Up to 40,000 fans were expected for the August 2 show.

“*NSYNC looks forward to returning to Miami in the near future and appreciates all of the fans and parents for their support,” a press release from Clear Channel said. Tickets for the canceled gig will be honored at a later date.

The group’s tour ends August 27 in Texas, and it’s not clear if they’ll be able to squeeze in a makeup date for Miami before travelingto Mexico City for a September 1 concert.
