Emimem and D12 Off Cyberfest
The show’s promoter told the San Francisco Chronicle that the Daly City police wanted the artists barred from performing, citing concern over recent reports of violence involving D12.
Earlier this week the group was asked to leave the Warped Tour after an August 3 brawl with members of a rival Detroit rap group. The altercation occurred offstage at the Camden, N.J., show and did not involve Eminem, who did not perform with the group on that tour.
“We don’t support any type of violent behavior or negativity. We have over a hundred DJs and artists performing. We didn’t want to jeopardize the show, by any means,” Sason Parry of Cool World, the company behind Cyberfest, told the Chronicle.
Cyberfest is an all-day dance event, featuring artists The Crystal Method, Uberzone, DJ Skribble, DJ Dan, and Christopher Lawrence, among others. The next Cyberfest will be September 22 in Houston.
