Officially dubbed “The Coen Brothers and T Bone Burnett present Down From The Mountain: Music from the film ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?'” the outing is scheduled to start in mid-January 2002 and play approximately 20 cities through the end of February.

In case you’re wondering, the Coen Brothers – Ethan and Joel, wrote and directed the tour’s namesake movie, and T Bone Burnett was the film’s musical director.

Artists on the bill tentatively include Alison Krauss & Union Station, Emmylou Harris, Ralph Stanley and Norman Blake – all of whom participated in the “‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?” film soundtrack.

Two concerts proved the idea of bringing the movie soundtrack to life was not only a good one – it was profitable, too.

The sold-out concert, titled Music from “‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?” that took place June 13th at Carnegie Hall was a hit. Another show – performed in May 2000 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium – was recorded and released as a live album that made a dent on the charts.
