Earlier this year, the Oils were set to team up with INXS and Men At Work for a North American amphitheatre tour. Venues were confirmed and everything appeared good to go when plans were suddenly and unexpectedly scrapped.

Since then, the band has been touring Australia, as they regularly do. From September 24-26, they are in Sydney, 28-29 finds them at the Leagues Club in Parramatta, and on the 30th they move to Leagues Club in Wyong. That doesn’t give them much time to recover from jet-lag when they hit Anaheim, Calif., on October 8.

Midnight Oil – best known for towering frontman Peter Garrett’s bald pate and political activism – released their album The Real Thing last year in Australia – their first disc since 1998’s Redneck Wonderland.
