Original guitarist Fallon Bowman left Kittie in August. She will be replaced by the band’s guitar tech Jeff Phillips for this tour but the band is officially a trio now, comprising sisters Mercedes (vocals/guitar) and Morgan Lander (drums), and Talena Atfield (bass).

Hailing from Canada, the group met and formed while in high school at the end of the ‘90s. Like many high school bands, Kittie wanted to prove that girls can rock and they did just that, drawing comparisons to L7, Godsmack, and other heavy hitters.

Their 1999 full-length debut album, Spit, went gold and launched the grrrl’s touring career – first with a support slot on a Slipknot tour and later on a sold-out road trip with Disturbed. A slot on Ozzfest 2000 rounded out their year.

Somehow in between all their gigs, Kittie managed to get another album out. Paperdoll, their sophomore record, was released in 2000.

Last winter Kittie toured on the Sno-Core package, along with Fear Factory, Slaves On Dope, and Union Underground. Their third album, Oracle, is due for an early November release.
