Comprising bassist Les Claypool (of Primus), guitarist Trey Anastasio (of Phish), and drummer Stewart Copeland (formerly of the Police), Oysterhead is a jam band’s band. They formed in 2000 with the initial idea of jamming together for a night or two at SuperJams – part of the Jazzfest concert series in New Orleans – and ended up making an album.

They have reportedly enlisted North Mississippi Allstars, Drums And Tuba, The Cancer Conspiracy, Lake Trout, Mark Ribot y Los Cubanos Postizos, and New Orleans Klezmer Allstars as support acts for various dates.

The theatre tour starts October 21 in Seattle and spends some time on the West Coast before headding inland and across the States,

The band is promoting their album, The Grand Pecking Order, which was released earlier this month.
