Red-Headed Stranger To No One
One of American music’s most enduring icons, Willie Nelson, lines up a string of concerts for January and February. Starting on the East Coast January 18, Nelson makes his way out West, with a few multi-night stands in New York, Lake Tahoe and San Francisco along the way. He already has a few U.K. dates scheduled in June as well.
Now in his fourth decade of performing, Nelson remains a formidable concert draw and tours constantly.
He had to cancel or postponedates in August and September due to a bronchial infection, but has been busy gigging around the States for most of the fall.
In addition to his own concerts, Nelson has also been busy with charity shows. In September, he rounded up friends for the 16th anniversary Farm Aid concert, this time giving a more patriotic slant to the event aimed at highlighting the needs of farmers.
Prior to Farm Aid, Nelson participated in another herculean fund-raiser. He closed out the fund-raising telecast “America: A Tribute To Heroes” by leading an all-star rendition of “America The Beautiful.”
