Hosted by famed feminist and women’s rights activist Gloria Steinem, the event will feature performances by Ani DiFranco, Bruce Hornsby, Joe Henry and John Popper of Blues Traveler.

Proceeds will benefit Voters For Choice – the nation’s largest independent pro-choice political action committee/fund, as well as the Revolutionary Association Of The Women Of Afghanistan. RAWA is an organization of Afghan women working to improve human rights in their homeland.

“There is no democracy without women’s equality. This concert shows that we stand with our Afghan sisters,” said Steinem.

Tickets go on sale December 22 through Ticketmaster. VIP tickets are available and include a post-show reception with Steinem.

Voters For Choice had originally planned the event for September 25 but canceled the show due to the terrorist attacks. Alanis Morissette and Michael Franti & Spearhead are two artists originally scheduled to appear at the September event, but who are not on the new roster.

In past years, participating musicians have included Neil Young, L7, Bonnie Raitt, Lyle Lovett, Indigo Girls, Melissa Etheridge, and Pearl Jam, who headlined two of the events.
