Rocky Mountain Rock
The Samples, Vermont’s other musical export – though they relocated to Colorado a while ago – are getting ready to hit the road again, kicking off a late-winter caravan in Vail, Colo., January 29.
The five-piece will spend a week or so in their adopted Rocky Mountains – with stops in Salt Lake City, Denver and Boulder, Colo. before heading northwest for a swing down the Pacific Coast.
The Samples will spend most of the 31-city jaunt out west, where they’ll perform in Seattle, San Francisco, Las Vegas, West Hollywood, Tucson, Dallas and Houston. They’ll swing into the southeastern U.S. in late February, with dates in Atlanta, Philadelphia and Boston before closing out at Irving Plaza in New York City March 9.
The band has been around since 1987, enduring personnel and record company changes until finally deciding to go the DIY route in 2000 with their own label, Apache Records.
Their latest album, Return to Earth, was released in April.
