311 launch a headlining U.S. tour with Hoobastank in support February 28 in San Francisco. Right now, they expect to be on the road through the beginning of April, but shows may be added to the beginning and/or the end of the From Chaos tour.

Included in their American run is a special holiday show in New Orleans. The band celebrates March 11 (3/11) – their self-proclaimed holiday – with a concert in New Orleans. The city’s mayor, Marc Morial will present a proclamation honoring the group.

Circus performers and surprise guests are expected to make special appearances during the festivities.

Always the road-dogs, 311 have been going non-stop since the release of their sixth album, From Chaos, last year. Onesidezero and Alien Ant Farm won support slots on the American outing last fall. Prior to that, 311 spent the summer on the Vans Warped Tour.

Meanwhile, Hoobastank were busy supporting Incubus on their autumn tour last year. In between gigs, they managed to sneak in some of their own headlining shows with Handsome Devil and Lost Prophets opening.

Their self-titled album was released in November.
