Their March 3 show in Buffalo, N.Y., and March 4 concert in Ottawa, Canada, at the Gay Pride Festival are not considered part of their promotional party pack, but will be featuring new material just the same.

The preview club gigs will feature the acoustic stylings of the acclaimed singer/songwriters as they play 45 minute- to hour-long sets of new tunes from their forthcoming 12-song album. Become You, the Indigo Girls’ eighth studio album, will be released March 12.

The twosome tour regularly and often lend their talents to benefit nonprofit organizations, but the Girls spent little time on the road last year.

Of their roughly 10 shows, most were sold-out gigs on the West Coast. The downtime was spent working on solo projects, new material and resting from their eight-month tour in 2000.

Become You marks the Girls’ first album of new material since 1999’s Come On Now Social.
