This is Iglesias’ first major outing since his 2000 world tour. Last year, he played a handful of holiday shows, but focused his time on recording his fourth album, Escape. The disc contains the hit single “Hero,” which was released just before the September 11 attacks and has become a source of comfort for those victimized by the events.

Like his father before him, Iglesias’ career has reached colossal proportions world-wide. His debut self-titled album sold an impressive one million copies within three months. Portuguese fans lapped up the disc, causing it to go gold in a scant seven days. His first English language album, Enrique, has achieved gold or platinum status in 32 countries.

In addition to envious album sales, Iglesias also has a trophy case full of awards; from Grammy’s to Billboard, Premio Lo Nuestro and American Music Awards, just to name a few, Iglesias is an industry favorite in the Latin pop category.

Recently, Iglesias joined the ever-growing throng of singers-cum-actors by landing a role in the upcoming film “Once Upon A Time In Mexico” with Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek.

Tickets look to be set for the $32-$60 range, with shows in Rochester (March 15) and Detroit (20) already on sale.
