Prine returned to the road in 1999 after battling cancer. Since then, he’s been gigging steadily, filling theatres across North America. In addition to his regular touring scheme, Prine is also an active participant in the Concerts For A Landmine Free World series.

Prine has been cultivating his craft and his audience for decades. He was a popular figure on the Chicago folk music scene in the ‘60s when he caught the ear of Kris Kristofferson who helped him get a record deal.

Since then, a number of high-profile artists have recorded his songs including the Everly Brothers, Bette Midler, Joan Baez, 10,000 Maniacs, Nanci Griffith, Johnny Cash and Bonnie Raitt.

Last year saw the DVD release of Prine’s performance on the PBS concert series, “Sessions At West 54th”. His performance on the program has been labeled as the best of that year. His latest album was 2000’s Souvenirs.
