A Disaster Waiting To Happen

Pop will never be the same when the reigning kings of punk take over venues this spring. Co-headlined by Green Day and Blink-182, the Pop Disaster Tour begins April 17 in Bakersfield, Calif., and rocks its way across the States to end two months later in Minneapolis. Jimmy Eat World tag along for the first bit with Saves The Day rumored to be picking up the last three weeks.

Local bands and “lesser-known acts” will round out the support slots as the plans are finalized. As of yet, no venues have been announced, but the tour itinerary has the guys hitting major markets from coast to coast. Pollstar.com will post the confirmed schedule as soon as it is available.

MTV is offering exclusive advance tickets on February 21 and 22. No word yet on prices or when other outlets will put tickets up for grabs.

In the meantime, both Green Day and Blink members are keeping their hyperactive selves busy with a couple of gigs. Green Day wrap a five-date Japan tour on April 4 while Blink-182 singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge, drummer Travis Barker and Over My Dead Body guitarist Dave Kennedy make tour plans for their project, Boxcar Racer.
