Support For The Who
Vintage rockers The Who have tapped a few acts to join them on their summer tour of U.S. amphitheatres and arenas. Robert Plant will appear on the East Coast shows, which run July 26 through August 31, while the Counting Crows have signed on for two of the four California gigs thus far, July 3 and 4.
The 20-date jaunt kicks off June 28 with an intimate show at the 2,000-capacity venue The Joint in Las Vegas and moves on to large venues from coast to coast.
Madison Square Garden in New York snags the legendary artists for a four-night stand July 31 and August 1, 3 and 4.
Tickets are already on sale, with prices ranging from around $40 on up to the $200 mark.
The Who last toured in 2000 when they did a similar run of U.S. outdoor venues over the summer. Plant had a few shows in North America last summer with his Strange Sensations band, but hasn’t toured in the States since 1993. He’s mentioned touring the U.S. this year, but no itinerary has been announced yet.
