A New Day Breaks For Beth Orton
Beth Orton makes her grand return to the music world this summer. After taking time off due to complications from Crohn’s Disease in 2000, Orton is ready to hit the road running. Her North American tour, the first since 2000 when she supported Beck, kicks off May 20 in Vancouver, Canada, and moves down the West Coast to California.
A few stops in Canada and the Midwest lead Orton out East, where the tour wraps June 15 in Washington, D.C. The Bowery Ballroom in New York hosts Orton for two nights, June 10-11 – the only two-night stand in her tour.
Along with a new tour, Orton is celebrating her soon-to-be-released album, Daybreaker, which hits shelves in the States on July 20. Daybreaker is Orton’s third album and already has the critics buzzing in anticipation.
With artists like Ryan Adams, The Chemical Brothers, Johnny Marr, and Emmylou Harris guesting on the album, Daybreaker looks to continue Orton’s reputation as both folkie and chilled-out electronica queen.
