In addition to the exciting news that QOTSA are actually touring – it’s been two years since they’ve ventured out – and that they’ve got a new album, Songs For The Deaf, coming out, the Queens have also announced that Foo Fighter headman Dave Grohl will be joining them this time around.

Grohl, who played drums on most of the tracks for the new album, will be behind the kit for the tour. He joins QOTSA duo Josh Homme and Nick Oliveri, and former Screeming Trees frontman Mark Lanegan.

Eleven shows are planned for major markets spanning coast to coast, with one stop in Canada. Grohl’s own band, the Foo Fighters, will also be playing the Coachella festival, although they follow on the second night of the weekend event (April 28).

There’s talk that QOTSA will mount a tour this fall with …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead supporting, but details have yet to be confirmed.
