Before they hit the road en masse though, Cake has a few festival shows lined up from mid-May through the start of July. The band will be playing various radio station shows like the 91X fest in San Diego, as well as the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado and Edgefest in Ontario.

Like Cake, who tour regularly, De La Soul are no strangers to the road. The hip-hop trio will have been around the world and back by time the Unlimited Sunshine tour kicks off.

The Flaming Lips, on the other hand, haven’t toured since 2000. Modest Mouse bridge the two extremes – they’ve had a few scattered shows this year and were on the road last September with The Shins.

Newcomer Kinky round out the touring troupe. The Monterrey, Mexico, quintet have been on the road promoting their eponymous debut, which was released in March.

The Unlimited Sunshine trek heads out July 31 in St. Louis. A mix of shed and theatre venues are on the books for the 17-date outing, which includes a two-night stand in Prospect Park, New York.
