Just before her tour, Parton will give a performance on NBC’s “Today Show” Summer Concert Series July 5.

“Dolly Parton is a legendary artist,” said Kevin Morrow of HoB. “It’s an honor to welcome Dolly to our stages and to bring House of Blues audiences an intimate and unforgettable experience.”

It’s been nearly 10 years since Parton last toured. POLLSTAR’s records indicate that 1993 was her last official outing, although she’s performed a few one-off gigs and made special appearances here and there.

This time around, Parton will be supporting her forthcoming album, Halos & Horns. Set for release July 9, the effort contains a couple of cover tunes, including the surprising version of Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway To Heaven”.

To insure Dolly fans get first crack at tickets, HoB has set up a micro-site where fans can purchase presale tickets and listen to song clips from the new album. Beginning June 14, the site will also feature a sweepstakes to win a weekend trip for two to attend Parton’s August 10 show in Las Vegas.
